Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC) funds innovations that support the delivery of Urgent and Emergency care (UEC)
The AAC – through the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) Healthcare – has awarded £3.9 million to support innovations that help address patient need in UEC.
Phase 3’ funding facilitates their adoption across health or social care providers. The selected innovations include an AI digital tool for early identification of individuals that may be at risk of unplanned hospital admissions, and a rapid blood test that distinguishes bacterial from viral infections in 15 minutes based on the host-immune response.
These innovations were chosen because they have the biggest potential to deliver the transformative care needed for patients and clinical staff, to deliver an NHS that is fit for the future.
