London Health and Care Leaders Forum – 11 March 2014

The second of the London Health and Care Leaders Forum took place on Tuesday 11 March 2014 and was hosted by McKinsey and supported by the London Leading for Health Partnership.

Following on from a very successful first meeting in October 2013, the Forum brought together the leadership community from across health and care in London, with the aim to inspire and stimulate meaningful debate in order to bring about transformational change to deliver improvements in health and social care outcomes for Londoners.

Key highlights from the second meeting were:

  • The opportunity to hear about different models of healthcare from a range of speakers, including international speakers, and the chance to share and stimulate new thinking around leading system wide transformation collaboratively.
  • Interactive breakout sessions; providing the opportunity to ask questions and hear more about topics including Workforce Transformation, Payment Innovation, Information, Citizen Empowerment and Personalisation, and Children’s Services.
  • Real time voting session feedback to questions including having the capacity as a leader in an organisation to lead transformational change in services.
  • Joining the Twitter conversation and debate, where 126 participants sent a total of 316 posts. This meant that 1,470,140 twitter accounts would have had the #LeadersForumLDN tweets feature in their timeline.

  4. Citizen Empowerment and Personalisation By Jay Stickland, London Borough of Greenwich, Jeremy Taylor, National Voices and Helen Davies, Patient Perspective
Empowering citizens to live healthier lifestyles, self-manage and make more value-conscious use of health and social care services is as important as ever.
  5. Children’s Services By Dr Maggie Atkinson, Children’s Commissioner for England, Geoff Little, Manchester City Council.
This workshop explored transformational advances in integration of children’s services across health and social care.
