Neighbourhood health

Most people and communities want to access health and care as close to home as possible, in a way that is most convenient and timely for them.

Neighbourhood health puts the person at the centre of how we deliver their health and care by organising services so they can work together to serve a defined population.

With the creation of four new neighbourhood health centres, the work of our 8 National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme Pioneer sites and the community outreach already being delivered by Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs) our NHS colleagues can help people get the care they need within the community.

Neighbourhood Health Centres

The new centres will be open at least 12 hours a day, six days a week and GP leaders will be pivotal in shaping local proposals.
