Cardiac

The network aims, in line with the LTP, to better support people with heart failure through improved access to diagnostics and multidisciplinary teams as part of primary care networks.

Access to cardiac rehabilitation varies across England with uptake at 52%. The ambition is to improve the offer, and marketing, of cardiac rehabilitation to be the best in Europe and to prevent up to 23,000 premature deaths and 50,000 acute admissions over 10 years.

The network has re-established the Peninsula Cardiac Network; providing management and administration, drawing together the relevant stakeholders, appointing clinical leadership and quality improvement resource.  The network will now be run and managed by the Devon and Cornwall STP with representation from the Cardiovascular Network. We are exploring the opportunity of setting up other networks in the region.
