Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB), Chair

Help shape the future of health and care for two million people.

NHS Kent and Medway ICB commissions healthcare for around two million people, with an annual budget of approximately £5.4 billion in 2026/27. As we transform into a high-performing strategic commissioning organisation – shifting care from hospital to community, treatment to prevention, and analogue to digital  – we’re looking for an exceptional leader to provide visible, credible, values-driven leadership as the ICB continues its transformation. The chair will lead the unitary board, hold the organisation to account for strategy and financial delivery, and build public confidence in the system. You’ll bring proven chair or executive director experience from a large, complex organisation, strategic vision, and the ability to convene and influence across a complex partnership landscape.

We welcome applicants with experience of operating at a senior level within complex organisations who can demonstrate sound independent judgement, high personal integrity and a talent for partnership working. We believe the best boards are those that reflect the communities they serve and particularly welcome applications from those who bring life experience and personal insight – for example as a patient, carer or service user, or through lived experience of mental health issues, disability, or engagement with diverse communities.
