Cardiovascular disease

Who are we?

  • We are a group of people, including clinicians, commissioners, managers and members of the public, who want to improve care for people with or at risk of developing cardiovascular disease in Greater Manchester.
  • We are led by a consultant cardiologist who is supported by our network team.
  • The work of the network is overseen by a steering group, which includes doctors, specialists, commissioners, patients, public health workers and other people who drive improvements in this area.

What are our aims?

  • To develop a strong, cohesive strategic clinical network.
  • Review the challenges in the system.
  • Establish priorities and objectives that form the basis of a single coherent GM programme.
  • Review the current and planned improvement initiatives (who is doing what).
  • Explore existing gaps and opportunities against our agreed objectives and;
  • Look at how we can co-ordinate our efforts more effectively to achieve those collective objectives.

How do we do it?

  • Networking and partnership working.
  • Scoping and using shared intelligence.
  • Stakeholder agreement on objectives and priority setting.
  • Agreeing accountability.
  • Co-ordinating our initiatives.

How can I get involved?
