General practice teams – Help Us Help You campaign
Summary
This campaign aims to raise awareness of the different health professionals working in general practice teams who are helping patients get the right care, more easily, first time.
This campaign includes:
- social media resources (videos, images, BSL (British sign language) versions and copy)
- A3 and A4 posters for each role (translations available)
- A5 leaflets for every roll
- display screen resources for each role
Guidance
Primary Care Networks and GP practices can utilise this campaign by doing the following:
- download and share the social media resources across your social media accounts
- print posters for appropriate roles in your practice and PCN and display them in waiting rooms
- consider printing non-English posters for any significant other language demographics in your patient population
- use the display screen resources on any video displays in public areas of your GP practice sites
We recommend GP practice and Primary Care Networks use this campaign if their patients expresses any of the following sentiment:
- a poor understanding of GP practice roles
- concerns over the suitability of non-doctor clinicians
- concerns over changes in their GP practices operations
You should of course only focus on promoting roles available in your practice or Primary Care Network to avoid confusing patients with information about roles that do not exist locally.

As part of NHS England’s communications campaign to raise awareness of the multi-disciplinary team working in primary care, a animated film has been developed to explain the additional roles for multicultural audiences. The animation has been translated into multiple languages (Hindi, Panjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Polish, Romanian and Somali) to reach those who have low proficiency English and/or literacy levels and uses simple, straightforward language to ensure understanding amongst our target groups. The animations are available via YouTube and can be embedded in social media posts, newsletters or via other communication channels:
