Kent and Medway DESP procurement

The Kent and Medway Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP) contract is due to finish in early October 2019. NHS England is procuring a new service to start from October 2019.

Diabetic eye screening in Kent and Medway is currently provided through a mix of fixed sites and mobile vans across the area. The service offers a range of appointment times during weekdays, evenings and weekends according to need.

The new service will continue to meet the national service specification and quality standards. We recently asked for views on the service and how it could be improved. These will be considered when evaluating bids for the new contract to deliver the Kent and Medway DESP.
