In collaboration with burn care service leads, network specialist interest group leads (for nursing, therapies and psychology) and other stakeholders in the burn care pathway, our objectives are to:

• Improve outcomes and quality standards across whole burn care pathway
• Ensure that specialised burn care services are delivered according to clinical service designation
• Identify and effectively manage clinical and other risks relating to burn care
• Ensure effective clinical flows throughout whole of burn care pathway through clinical collaboration and education
• Contribute to reducing the incidence of burn injury in the population through prevention and raising awareness
• Provide standardised network protocols for acute care and rehabilitation
• Audit clinical outcomes: morbidity and mortality
• Formally assess services against national standards
• Ensure patient voice is at the centre of service redesign and improvement
• Collaborate with regional and national stakeholders to ensure an effective network
