Meet North Bristol NHS Trust’s Nature Recovery Ranger

Phoebe Webster, Nature Recovery Ranger at NBT has a unique role, funded by the Government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund, through the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and NHS Forest.

Phoebe runs lots of staff and community engagement events, encouraging people to get outside and use the natural world for exercise and wellbeing. Pheobe also works on green space enhancement projects to maintain quality outdoor areas and to improve the biodiversity at the Trust.

Since working at NBT, Phoebe has managed projects that have improved a selection of green spaces at the Trust including a roof top herb garden, a drought tolerant plant bed, an allotment and the Rosa Burden Centre – NBT’s neuropsychiatry service, supporting people with mental illness associated with neurological diseases, Epilepsy and sleep disorders.

Phoebe has also run a whole host of events for patients and staff across Somerset hospital sites such as flower identification and survey events, nature ranger walks, wild berry picking rambles, wildflower seed collection events, wildflower painting sessions, allotment clubs and butterfly survey walks.
