Plans for a Greener Future in Dorset

University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) care about the environment, and that’s why they are working to create a greener UHD.

The Trust has created ten ‘areas of action’ for reducing the organisation’s impact on the environment including waste, travel and energy usage.

Recent achievements include creating a haven for wildlife at its green flag award-winning lake and grounds at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, offsetting paper consumption which has enabled the Trust (via a scheme) to plant over two and a half thousand trees in Madagascar and further reductions in CO2 emissions across its hospital sites – now approximately 24% lower than in 2012.
