I wish to express my extreme disappointment with the Local Area Team structures. For months we have been told that the area I work in would form a significant number of positions, as the core responsibilities of commissioning services not the responsibility of the CCG’s would be managed by the LAT. In fact the complete opposite has occurred.
Our directorate will reduce to 11 WTE staff to manage the merger of 4 PCT, we had already clustered but this reduction in staffing numbers has come as a major surprise.
I also struggle that the LAT will be the last area to recruit and, therefore, there is the potential that talented individuals will leave and the Commissioning Board will be the organisation to suffer in the long term through loss of talent and local knowledge.
