The NHS Commissioning Board Authority has today published its business plan covering the period from April 2012 until October 2012.
Sir David Nicholson, Chief Executive, NHS Commissioning Board Authority said:
“The overall aim of the NHS Commissioning Board Authority is to lay the strong foundations for the successful establishment and operation of the NHS Commissioning Board and the new clinical commissioning system for the NHS to deliver real improvements for our patients.
“Our business plan sets out our aims and objectives and the approach we will take to achieve these. While creating a clinically-led and patient focused commissioning system is a major challenge it is also a very significant opportunity to deliver real improvements, to nurture innovation and to drive integrated services that will improve the quality of care for our patients.
“I believe that this business plan gives us the necessary framework setting out the critical success factors against which we will assess the impact of our work.”
