    What is a CGG?

    • Simon@NHS CB says:

      Hi Andie
Thank you for your comment. From April 2013, the current NHS commissioning system of primary care trusts will be very different, with most of the NHS budget managed by 211 new clinical commissioning groups. These new bodies will be responsible for commissioning the majority of secondary care and mental health services for NHS patients. CCGs are groups of general practices which come together to take on responsibility for commissioning the best services for their patients and population.

You can find more information on CCGs in our CCG resources area.

      Kind regards
      Simon

What CCG’s will Merseyside CSU currently be looking after?

    • Simon@NHS CB says:

      Hi Hayley
Thank you for your comment. As commissioning support units (CSUs) are developing into customer-driven businesses, that are capable of being independent, the NHS Commissioning Board does not yet hold accurate information about which CGGs are contracting with which CSUs. We will be collecting this information prior to the hosting period which commences in April 2012. You could also contact the CSU directly for this information.

      Kind regards
      Simon
