The Department of Health’s response to the consultation on local authority health scrutiny is now available.

The report provides an overview and analysis of the responses received, the Department’s comments and the action the Department intends to take to address the points raised.

This response will inform the development of a new statutory instrument (regulations) that will come into force in April 2013.

NHS commissioners and providers will wish to familiarise themselves with the proposed changes and how they will need to work with local authority health scrutiny in the future.
