Delegates flock to two-day commissioning show

More than 7,000 delegates are gathering in London today for the Commissioning Show.

The two-day show at the Excel will see people from all over the country meet to take part in the world-class conference programme that includes CCG Business, Area Team and Your Practice streams.

Over 300 speakers will deliver legislation and policy updates, live debates, case studies and keynote sessions providing delegates with everything from organisational development and governance advice, to new approaches to commissioning for patients with multiple long-term conditions.

Speakers include NHS England’s Bruce Keogh, Tim Kelsey, Helen Hirst, Martin McShane and David Geddes and politicians Stephen Dorrell, Norman Lamb and Andy Burnham.

NHS England is running a two hour workshop at the Show entitled Outcomes Measurement in the NHS, where speakers will include John Stewart, Director, Quality Framework, and Dr Paul Husselbee, Chief Clinical Officer for Southend CCG and Chair of the NHS Commissioning Assembly Quality Working Group.

In addition to the 14 theatres of content, there will be two Commissioning Support Theatres, a Public Health conference, and a centralised hub for technology – Technology First.

The Commissioning Show is the only event to bring together the entire health and social care sector on a major scale.
