Focus falls on future of NHS111

More than 200 delegates are expected to attend the NHS111 Focus on Futures conference in Manchester today.

They will hear about exciting new developments being planned for the service which already fields more than one million calls a month.

Keynote speakers will include Beverley Bryant, NHS England’s Director of Digital Technology, who will focus on e-health priorities.

She is expected to explain how NHS111 is “setting the standard for the digital transformation of healthcare”.

The “integral role NHS111 has to play in the Urgent and Emergency Care transformation” will be addressed by Professor Jonathan Benger, National Clinical Director for Urgent Care.

Rob Bacon, NHS111National Medical Director, and Dr Ossie Rawstorne, NHS England’s National Medical Advisor on NHS111, will talk about how integrating NHS111 and Out of hours services will work.

Dr Geraldine Strathdee, National Clinical Director for Mental Health, will talk about the mental health priorities for NHS111.
