Since the NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Programme began rolling out spring boosters for the first time yesterday, just under 150,000 eligible people had booked their vaccination as of 12 noon today.
Dr Nikki Kanani, GP and deputy lead for the NHS Vaccination Programme, said: “It is fantastic to see so much enthusiasm from the public for the latest phase of the NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Programme – it is already off to a flying start with more than 145,000 eligible people booking their spring booster between it opening yesterday morning and midday today.
“Patients have already started coming forward, with 95-year-old grandfather of two, Devraj Jhalam, becoming one of the first to get a spring vaccination on the very first day of the rollout.
“When you get the invite from the NHS, please do come forward for your next boost”.
