NHS National Medical Director Professor Sir Stephen Powis said: “There is no doubt that NHS staff are facing immense pressure during this latest round of industrial action, yet their dedication to patients remains unwavering as they prioritise life-saving care.

“The public should continue to use services in the usual way by using 999 and A&E in an emergency, and otherwise the public can use 111 online and community services like GPs and pharmacies which are open as usual for help and advice.”
