Following the rollout of the vaccine programme and with other treatments for COVID-19 becoming available, the Government believes the time is right to end the shielding programme.

This means patients will no longer be classified as Clinically Extremely Vulnerable or advised to shield. This letter explains what that means for patients and clinicians.
