- Forward planner – work is ongoing to consider the future role of the committee in the context of the 10 Year Health Plan (10YHP), Dash review, the role of the National Quality Board and the Operating Model.
- National Medical Director and Chief Nursing Officer Report –
- Nottingham Review – publication has been postponed to June 2026. On-going work on future maternity delivery plans.
- 10 Year Health Plan (10YHP) focus has been on patient voice and choice, digital innovation, and improved methods for data measurement and reporting.
- The Committee have requested deep dives at future meetings, to focus on, Children and Young People services, and digital risks including implications of AI for clinical safety.
- NHS Quality Strategy – in development and ensuring alignment with 10YHP. Emphasis on clinical effectiveness, patient experience, addressing health inequalities, people, culture and empowerment of clinical teams.
- Integrated Quality Report – developed in alignment with the National Performance Assessment Framework (NPAF) and includes additional quality metrics.
- Quality risks – important to have oversight of risks particularly in the context of the current transition and system changes. Further deep dive to be presented at the next meeting.
- Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Inpatient Quality Transformation – update of the work taking place across the programme noting the challenges faced by patients. The Committee supported the complex and important work being undertaken across the programme.
- Learn from Patient Safety Events – updated on the implementation progress of the service that enables staff to report patient safety incidents, drive insights, and promote organisational learning. The Committee noted the advantages of the new system with broader accessibility for providers.
