1. Introductions
Panel members were welcomed to the meeting by the Chair, who also ran through the agenda. A new Chair was welcomed for this meeting and members introduced themselves.
The action notes from the previous meeting were approved for publication with one minor amendment. No conflicts of interest were declared.
2. NHS England SDE – Data Uses Register engagement
NHS England’s Secure Data Environment (SDE) team presented on engagement plans for a Data Uses Register. The presentation gave an overview of the SDE network and engagement plans; members were asked to review the materials to be used.
Panel feedback included:
- The need for clearer, more accessible language around SDEs and patient data
- The importance of consistency in terminology across different SDEs
- Ensuring engagement considers the public’s existing familiarity with SDEs
3. Feedback on NHS FDP Benefits webpage
The communications team invited panel members to share verbal feedback on the NHS FDP Benefits webpage, which members had been asked to review ahead of the meeting. Key themes from the feedback included:
- Navigation was generally straightforward from the landing page, but moving through the page itself was more difficult
- The page name could better reflect its content and benefit to the public
- More visuals and clearer formatting were needed to break up large amounts of text
- The page should be tailored primarily for patients, using plain language and diverse case studies
- Functionality across different devices needed to be considered
4. PPECAP recruitment – update
An update was provided on PPV partner recruitment, covering applicant numbers and timelines. Members were informed that they would be kept updated throughout the process.
