1. Introductions
Panel members were welcomed to the meeting by the Chair, who also ran through the agenda. The action notes from the previous meeting were approved for publication. No conflicts of interest were declared.
2. NHS FDP – Solutions Exchange
NHS England presented an overview of the NHS FDP Solutions Exchange, a platform that provides NHS trusts with access to a range of tools to address clinical and administrative challenges. The presentation covered the purpose of the Solutions Exchange, the products currently available, and future plans for the service.
Panel members asked questions and gave feedback, including:
- The Solutions Exchange was seen as a positive initiative that supports collaboration and reduces duplication across trusts
- Members welcomed the Development Portal, through which trusts can build and share their own solutions
- Members noted the potential for the Solutions Exchange to reduce costs and improve efficiency across the NHS
3. NHS FDP Chesterfield Case Study Video
NHS England presented a case study video featuring Chesterfield Royal Hospital and their use of an FDP product. Panel members were invited to give feedback. Key themes included:
- Patient benefits should be more prominently highlighted throughout the video
- A patient perspective should be included to bring the benefits to life and add diversity
- Some technical language should be simplified to make the video more accessible to a general audience
- The visuals were considered high quality with a good variety of shots
4. PPECAP recruitment update
An update was provided on the recruitment of new patient and public voice (PPV) partners to PPECAP. Successful candidates had been notified; onboarding had begun, and planning for inductions was underway.
Existing members were informed that their tenure would end at the close of the financial year unless they had expressed an interest in continuing.
Panel members were asked what they would have found useful as new panel members; one suggestion was a glossary of key terms and abbreviations.
