1. Introductions
Panel members were welcomed to the meeting by the Chair, who ran through the agenda. The action notes from the previous meeting were approved for publication, and no conflict of interest was raised.
2. NHS FDP benefits video script – feedback
The NHS FDP team presented the latest NHS FDP benefits video script to the panel for feedback. The script outlined how the platform helps reduce administrative burden on clinicians, supports management of waiting lists, and enables a more joined-up health system. Panel feedback included:
- The script gave a good overview of hospital processes
- Some language may not be meaningful to a public and could be simplified
- The animation felt more suited to an NHS staff audience than patients
- Slides with a lot of content moved too quickly for audiences to take in all elements
- Patient icons could be more diverse and better representative of the wider population, including people with visible disabilities
- Statistics on screen should be accompanied by a clear timeframe/date
- The overall visual design of the animation was positively received
- Greater variety of clinical staff, such as nurses, could be shown alongside patients
- Hospital clothing depicted could better reflect common patient experience
- The animation should show a more positive impact on patient experience.
3. Thanks
In this final panel meeting, NHS England and DHSC representatives expressed sincere thanks to panel members for their contributions over the past year.
Panel members also shared their own reflections on their time on the panel, noting the value of engaging with complex and important issues.
4. Interactive feedback survey
Panel members completed an anonymous interactive survey reflecting their experience as panel members of the PPECAP.
The feedback was broadly positive. Some frustration around the application process for PPV roles and navigating payment systems was expressed. The Chair and secretariat acknowledged these concerns and confirmed the feedback would be escalated to support improvements to the process.
Actions: Followed up with a more detailed exit survey post-meeting sent via email.
5. Involvement claims and end of tenure
Members were asked to submit involvement claims by the following Monday.
Panel were reminded that this was the last meeting, due to the end in tenure. Departing members’ engagement will be formally concluded within one month to allow time for off-boarding processes.
