University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust has recently launched NHS Federated Data Platform (FDP) Inpatient Module in general surgery, ear nose and throat (ENT), and plastics. This digital platform integrates operational data from various NHS systems, providing staff with secure access to necessary information.
UHCW has approved full FDP utilisation, with a trust-wide rollout planned over the next year. The NHS FDP will work alongside the trust’s new electronic patient record (EPR), enhancing digital transformation to support patient care.
The combined impact of NHS FDP and EPR programmes will create more data connections, improve decision-making, and streamline processes. These transformational initiatives aim to boost operational efficiency and ultimately enhance the quality of patient care at UHCW.
Dan Hayes – Director of Performance and Informatics, National Lead for Data Driven Productivity and UHCW FDP SRO states: “The launch of NHS FDP is a pivotal moment for the trust. The programme will allow us to harness the power of digital and data transformation to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency. We are excited to see the positive impact this will have on our patients and services and are looking forward to the trust-wide rollout in the next 12 months.”
