Essential professional nurse educator (PNE) role requirements
- a registered mental health nurse with extensive clinical experience (minimum of 5 years)
- educated to Level 7 (master’s level)
- post graduate qualification (PG certificate) in teaching/practice education
- a qualified professional nurse advocate (PNA) with adequate experience of delivering restorative clinical supervision in practice and supporting colleagues
Other information
All PNEs should take responsibility for their own learning and development and ensure that their job plans allow adequate time for this.
- PNEs should prioritise their own restorative supervision and lead by example in demonstrating that effective clinical practice requires protected supervision time
- PNEs should use evidence and resources to support them in their role and implement best practice in the workplace
