Regulation 26: Noncompliance to the requirements of Annual Summary Regulation 25, actions to improve reporting
In the annual summary published in 2025, for the inaugural reporting period, NHS England was unable to report on the following requirements:
- the number of new providers to whom a contract was awarded in the year to which this summary relates
- the number of providers who held a contract in the previous year but no longer hold any contracts in the year to which this summary relates
Following the enforcement of the Provider Selection Regime, NHS England has adopted a data recording methodology which includes the Provider Selection Regime as a procurement route, whereby the relevant Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) codes for specific healthcare services are systematically embedded within the reporting infrastructure.
NHS England will be able to meet these reporting requirements within the annual summary published in 2026.
