Spring COVID-19 invitation for people with a weakened immune system

You can book a free NHS spring COVID-19 vaccine. This is because your NHS record suggests you may have a weakened immune system. We’ll need to confirm this before you get the vaccine.

How to get an appointment

You should book before 17 June 2025. This is the final date to get your vaccination.

If you can’t get online, phone 119. Translators are available. You can also use text phone 18001 119 or the NHS British Sign Language service at www.signvideo.co.uk/nh119.

If you get your care at home, contact your GP surgery for a home visit. If they can’t arrange it, get support at www.england.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination-contacts.

Other formats of this invitation are available. For easy read, BSL and translations, go to www.england.nhs.uk/seasonal-invites.

Why the NHS is offering the spring COVID-19 vaccine

COVID-19 infections occur all year round and can be hard to avoid. It’s important you top up your protection because it fades over time and variants can change.

People with weakened immune systems are at increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19. Having the spring COVID-19 vaccine will reduce your risk of severe symptoms. You can read more at www.nhs.uk/covidvaccination.

Check if you have a weakened immune system

You may have a weakened immune system if you:

  • have or had blood cancer (such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma)
  • had an organ, bone marrow or stem cell transplant
  • have HIV
  • have a genetic disorder affecting your immune system
  • are having or recently had chemotherapy, biological therapy or radiotherapy
  • take steroid medicines, depending on your dosage
  • are having immunosuppressive treatment.

This list is a summary and does not cover everything. Speak to your pharmacist, GP surgery or specialist if you are not sure.
