This UK-wide study by Holloway et al (2017) explored the feasibility and acceptability of an Alcohol Brief Intervention (ABI) for adult male remand prisoners and to develop an ABI for this group, to be piloted in a future trial.

Summary

This three-staged mixed method study, through formal intervention mapping, used analysed data, which will inform the refinement of an acceptable ABI that is feasible to deliver to male remand prisoners. If the intervention is feasible and delivered widely, it has the potential to address the triple aim outcomes and help reduce an element of health inequality.
