Vascular
What is the programme and its aims
The Diabetes with Vascular Diseases Clinical Network is supporting NHS England’s Specialised Commissioning team around meeting the service specification and addressing gaps identified in vascular society reviews and GIRFT reviews.
Who are the partners
- NHS England specialised commissioning
- Acute provider trusts
- Public Health England
How are we making a difference
By identifying the unwarranted variation in service provision and making recommendations for a high quality safe vascular service across East Midlands. We are supporting University Hospitals of Leicester to develop a business case to commission a structured education programme for patients with claudication. A pilot is proposed in Leicestershire with a view to support wider implementation across the East Midlands.
