One of the areas of focus within the West Midlands Cardiovascular Clinical Network is Cardiac. Within this area we run two expert advisory groups (EAG’s):

• Cardiac EAG – in this meeting we aim to bring together Commissioners, Consultant Cardiologists, Consultant Cardiac Surgeons, West Midlands Ambulance Service, British Heart Foundation and other 3rd sector organisations depending on the topics of discussion. We discuss local priorities, issues and good practice to standardise care across or West Midlands region.
• Cardiac Devices EAG – in this meeting we aim to bring together Consultant Cardiologists from each trust within the West Midlands to also discuss local priorities, issues and good practice specific to cardiac devices.

All Cardiac projects feed into these two EAG’s for support, guidance and recommendations.
