Stroke

One of the areas of focus within the West Midlands Cardiovascular Clinical Network is Stroke. Within this area we run a regional Stroke Expert Advisory Group (EAG) four times a year.

The EAG acts as an expert consultative body for the Clinical Network on issues regarding the development and delivery of stroke services for the population of the West Midlands; we discuss local priorities, issues and good practice to standardise care across the West Midlands region.

The EAG brings together Stroke Consultants and Clinical Leads from each trust within the West Midlands, Stroke specialist Allied Health Professionals and clinicians, Commissioners, West Midlands Ambulance Service, the Stroke Association, NHS Rightcare and other 3rd sector organisations depending on the topics of discussion. The EAG is chaired by Dr Indira Natarajan, West Midlands Clinical Director for Stroke.

All stroke projects feed into the EAG for support, guidance and recommendations.
