London Metropolitan Archives celebrates the history of London’s Hospitals
To mark 75 years of the NHS, London Metropolitan Archives is hosting a free event on Friday 7 July to celebrate the people, places and events that make our NHS what it is today.
This is a unique chance to get hands-on with history and explore archive documents that trace the histories of London’s hospitals. Guests will be able to explore the highlights of hospital collections from 1551 to the modern day, including a medicine recipe book, matron’s character books, and photographs of doctors and nurses.
London Metropolitan Archives will showcase archive content from its collections including: St Thomas’ Hospital, Westminster Hospital, St George’s Hospital, and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
