East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Chair

EMAS provide emergency and urgent services for around 4.9 million people, covering approximately 6,452 square miles across six counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland. EMAS vision is to be “Responding to patient needs in the right way, developing our organisation to become outstanding for patients and staff, and collaborating to improve wider healthcare.”

We are looking for outstanding candidates who want to use their energy, skills and experience to help drive the delivery of sustainable healthcare services for the people of the East Midlands. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services by sharing your talents and expertise to help transform the ambulance service as well as local health services and make a positive difference to your community.

Candidates will be able to bring to life the Trust’s ‘Big 3’ vision, ambitions and values and work to deliver a high-quality service to their patients and continuing to improve patient safety and experience, and continue to a positive organisational culture that supports positive staff experience and well being. You will ideally have experience at a senior level from a complex organisation of similar scale and are likely to already have experience as a Non-executive Director. Please see the attached information pack for full details about the role.

The best boards are those that reflect the workforce and communities they serve. We particularly welcome applications from women, people from local black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, and people with disabilities, who we know are all under-represented in these important roles
