North West London Acute Provider Group, Chair

A unique opportunity to shape the future of acute care for our communities across north west London.

On 1 April 2026, the four acute hospital trusts in North West London – Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust formally came together as the North West London Acute Provider Group.

The Group is a natural evolution of the North West London Acute Provider Collaborative that was established in September 2022. The trusts have been working together increasingly closely for several years from teams sharing best practice and innovation to making the most of our collective skills and resources.

As the largest acute provider system across the NHS, this is a pivotal moment for us and we are energised by the opportunities to deliver better health outcomes for our communities. With a turnover of £4.5bn, we operate 12 hospitals, employ 36,000 colleagues and provide innovative, research-led care to more than 2.4 million people. By working more closely as a Group, we are better placed to make the best use of our collective resources, expertise and influence for the benefit of our patients and staff.

The Group begins this next phase from a strong position. The latest NHS league tables show improved performance across all four trusts, with three member trusts in the top segment and one in the second. Our collaboration has already enabled more consistent pathways and improved patient experience. We are proud to be among the safest hospital systems nationally, and we continue to invest in our digital capability.

We are now recruiting to the role of Chair of the North West London Acute Provider Group. This is a rare opportunity to direct and shape the future of acute care for a diverse population of 2.4 million people across north west London. We are looking for an exceptional individual who can bring outstanding board-level leadership to one of the NHS’s most complex and ambitious provider groups. The successful candidate will be a person of integrity, gravitas and vision. This role requires a leader who can inspire confidence and unite others around a bold agenda of transformation and collaboration, excelling as a strategic influencer, steward and assurance provider.

If you are excited by this opportunity, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We welcome applicants who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and those who bring varied professional backgrounds or lived experience that will enrich our leadership. Strong local knowledge or connection to the communities served by the Trust would be welcomed.
