Barking, Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trust, Non-executive Director

Barking, Havering & Redbridge University NHS Trust (BHRUT) provides acute hospital care to the populations of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge in outer east London, and in west Essex. The Trust also provides regional neuroscience and cancer specialist services and operates a specialist stroke service for a wider population.

We are an organisation that is getting better and better and our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care that we are proud of and our patients are happy with. We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 346,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £42m we need to transform the A&E at Queen’s and get rid of corridor care. We are also proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. Our 8,400 staff come from 146 different countries and we are committed to driving improvement and innovation for our communities including through the recent introduction of our new electronic patient record.

We are seeking a new Non-executive Director to join our Board. The successful candidate will be financially qualified with the capacity to chair the Finance and Investment Committee. This is an exceptional opportunity to share your talents and expertise to make a positive difference to the lives of people served by the Trust. Integral to this success, the individual will provide an independent perspective whilst collectively setting strategic direction and providing constructive challenge to the Board of Directors. You will need to have a genuine commitment to patients and the promotion of excellent health care services.
