The first patients were welcomed to the £19.4 million centre on Lindum Street, Scunthorpe, and the £10 million unit in Grimsby’s Freshney Place Shopping Centre in April 2025.

Together, these new centres will offer up to 300,000 additional diagnostic tests every year, affording patients greater choice and flexibility as well as reducing the need to come to a hospital site.

Staffed by expert clinicians, the centres will offer a range of diagnostic tests, helping us to detect serious conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and respiratory conditions.

Grimsby CDC will run the following services:

• Phlebotomy (blood testing)
• X-Ray
• Non-obstetric ultrasound
• 24 hour Cardiology monitoring
• ECGs,
• Echocardiographs
• The centre will also host ophthalmology appointments

Scunthorpe CDC will run the following services:

• Cardio-respiratory tests
• Phlebotomy (blood tests)
• X-Ray
• Non-obstetric ultrasound
• CT and MRI scans
