This guidance is for companies wishing to apply for a contract through the Antimicrobial Products Subscription Model. The guidance builds on a joint pilot project between NICE and NHS England which is the first in the world to pay companies a fixed annual fee for antimicrobials based on their value to the NHS, as opposed to the volumes used. This was further informed by a consultation on proposals for the subscription model in July to October 2023. A consultation summary is available in the thematic analysis report.

The subscription model uses the standard NHS procurement process and is advertised on the GOV.UK Find A Tender service.

For other therapeutic areas, the NHS commercial framework for new medicines outlines how pharmaceutical companies can engage with the NHS.
