Creating the right environment for people with a learning disability to have their COVID vaccine
Health staff in the Midlands have vaccinated more than 500 people with a learning disability thanks to a dedicated area within a vaccination centre run by specially trained learning disability nurse vaccinators. The clinics provide a service tailored to the individual needs of each person, making the necessary reasonable adjustments for them. The team now hold monthly clinics across all sites and have recently developed a mobile team of learning disability nurse vaccinators.
