Incontinence has many causes but is the basis of much distress (Cotterill et al 2016). This is a cross-sectional survey study of urinary and anal incontinence associated with progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and its impact on quality of life and sexual matters.

Summary

The findings provided insight about the levels of urinary and anal incontinence experienced and challenged assumptions about who might be affected. The conclusion was that health care professionals should pro-actively enquire about both types of incontinence among men and women, of all ages and all MS disease severity.
