Kumar et al (2015) identified potential determinants of adherence to Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs (DMARDs).

Summary

This included an assessment of the influence of beliefs about medicines and satisfaction with information provided about DMARDs. Also, it compared determinants of adherence between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients of White British (n=91) and South Asian descent (n=89) recruited from a secondary care service. This work has directly contributed to revisions in the way clinicians communicate disease related information to patients from ethnic minority backgrounds.
