A request for the following information about requests for approval of interim VSM pay above £750 per day, for the period 1 October 2016 to 31 March 2017:

• approval requests where the approval has been granted, including signing new contracts and extending or varying existing contracts, and cases where extra expenditure will be incurred
• details of the remuneration packages of the VSMs
• details where approval was sought but not granted

NHS Improvement withheld some of the information requested on the basis of the exemptions in sections 33, 40 and 43 of the FOI Act.
