Summary

The iHV Perinatal Mental Health Champions training programme addresses the fundamental requirements that are necessary for health visitors to manage anxiety, depression and other perinatal mental illnesses, to understand the impact of these conditions on the infant, family and society, and to know when to refer on. Participants from this study reported that the training increased their knowledge and skills around perinatal mental health and increased their confidence in managing PMH problems in practice.
