Summary

This building note covers all facilities providing care for newborn babies needing more than the routine care provided in maternity units. This includes cot space provision and clinical support rooms for special care, high dependency care and intensive care. Also included are the specialist spaces needed for families, such as parents’ overnight stay rooms.
