A study by Gray et al (2017) was conducted to quantify the number, type and management of complex wounds being treated over a two-week period in eight community services within five Northern England NHS Trusts, using a cross-sectional survey.

Summary

Marked variations were found in care which identified significant opportunities for delivering better value wound care. Utilising these opportunities may result in the reduction of unwarranted variation and better outcomes for individuals.
