Summary

This is a nurse and midwife led study, which interviewed 28 women in prison. It demonstrates a need to fully consider the benefits of breastfeeding for these women and how this essential human function may be maximised within the prison setting. The study is concerned with better outcomes and experience for the infant and better experience for the mother.
