The NHS Five Year Forward View – One Year On

This week marks the first anniversary of the publication of the Five Year Forward View.

Published on 23 October 2014 by the organisations that oversee health and care services in England, it set out why change is needed and outlined a clear vision for the future of the NHS. It started the move towards a different health service, recognising the challenges and outlining potential solutions to the big questions facing health and care.

Since publication of the Five Year Forward View, the NHS – plus local authorities, charities, communities and individuals – have worked together to act on better health and wellbeing; to redesign care; and to ensure financial sustainability. This week, we will be discussing the progress made and the next steps for delivering the Five Year Forward View.

You can join in the conversation at #FutureNHS all week, and also watch live streams of anniversary events and the NHS England Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 21 October.
