A huge variety of visitors from patients and carers, to students, NHS provider staff, commissioners and third sector workers were welcomed to the NHS RightCare zone over the two days. They joined eminent speakers, health economy colleagues and NHS RightCare team members.
Throughout the two days, a packed programme of speakers in our on-zone theatre shared their expertise and experience. Covering a wide range of topics from the practical implementation of the RightCare approach and the benefits it has brought to the latest thinking in shared decision making and patient choice. From how contracting can be used to tackle unwarranted variation to medicines optimisation.
In addition, a number of intelligence-led workshops included a session on the new Optimal Value Pathway on CVD prevention; an introduction to Commissioning for Value; and a journey through Janet’s story on frailty. Colleagues from Public Health England also joined us to talk about partnership working.
In the NHS RightCare Intelligence zone, not only did our analytical team have many conversations about our data packs and tools, but we also took away a wealth of contact information to follow up and hopefully drive future working.
Colleagues from CCGs up and down the country joined us in our Implementation & Knowledge share zone to share their experience of using the RightCare approach to tackle unwarranted variation and improve health and outcomes for their populations.
And in our Innovation zone, experts from the world of shared decision making and medicines optimisation shared their insight.
NHS RightCare’s National Director Matthew Cripps was with us for both days, and we were also joined on the stand by Bruce Keogh and Karen Wheeler who were keen to find out more about the programme of work. Thanks to everyone who made the zone such a success and thanks to everyone who visited. It was great to meet you and we wish you well with your own NHS RightCare journey to reduce unwarranted variation.
