To enable the continued expansion of personalised approaches to care, NHS England has today (10 February) commenced a process on behalf of and with clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to ensure that IT solutions supporting personal health budgets and Integrated Personal Commissioning (IPC) are high quality and represent value for money.

As part of the first stage of this work, NHS England is inviting IT suppliers to set out how they meet a number of published requirements, which have been developed in partnership with professionals working in CCGs and local authorities, as well as people with experience of personalised approaches to care.

IT suppliers are invited to respond to the requirements by Friday 7 April 2017.

NHS England’s intention is to publish an initial list of IT solutions that are compliant with the requirements, a process that is designed to help commissioners in health and social care to assess the most appropriate IT solution for their circumstances, and form a basis for local functional specifications.
