Our Specialised Commissioning Mental Health Programme of Care (MHPoC) is seeking two new Patient and Public Voice (PPV) Partners to join our team. You would be working alongside one other PPV Partner on this Programme of Care.
MHPoC covers the following specialised mental health (MH) services:
- adult secure
- all-age eating disorder
- body dysmorphic disorder / obsessive compulsive disorder
- children and young people
- deaf
- perinatal
- tier 4 personality disorder
As a PPV Partner, you will play a key role in ensuring that the voices of those with lived experience are central to everything MHPoC undertakes. You will provide advice and guidance to ensure the use of the most appropriate and progressive co-production and involvement approaches are used.
The ideal candidate will:
- have strong knowledge and experience in co-production and involvement, including designing and delivering approaches within specialised mental health services
- have personal experience of using specialised mental health services or supporting someone who has, such as a family member or significant other
- have worked with clinicians, commissioners, and other professionals to drive change using co-production and involvement methods
- be familiar with established networks of people who have used specialised mental health services, or networks of families/significant others who have supported them
- be passionate about making a difference and working with others to improve specialised mental health services
The role requires you to actively participate in four meetings per year, mostly conducted online, and to review any papers sent in advance. This PPV Partner position offers an honorarium or involvement payment, and expenses will be covered. If you require additional support, such as a British Sign Language interpreter, to participate in the MHPoC meetings, NHS England will cover these costs.
